EVAPORATIVE COOLING.........DOES IT WORK IN WISCONSIN?
United Metal Products of Tempe Arizona has installations all over this
continent. The types of installations vary from greenhouses to manufacturing facilities, and even museums. Sizes range from 5000 cfm to 200,000 cfm with various configurations. Custom Air handling units are also available for design-build or for field erecting. There are a good number of installations in Wisconsin where evaporative cooling is the means of decreasing the dry bulb temperature. Waupaca Foundry, for example, elected to install evaporative cooling units in several of their foundries, and have had remarkably good results. Tower Automotive also opted to install evaporative coolers on the inlet side of six 54,000 cfm King direct fired air make-up units and they too have had very favorable results. So, it does work. People here in the midwest are skeptical because the belief is that evaporative cooling works only in the Southwest - not true!
